The Quiet Garden
A reflection from the Mind Sanctuary phone app.
There was once a garden hidden behind an old stone wall. No one could see it from the road. No signs pointed to it. You had to know it was there.
Inside, the garden was alive with gentle sounds. A small fountain trickled water over smooth stones. Bees hummed slowly between lavender bushes. Wind rustled through tall grasses at the edges.
In the center stood an old wooden bench, worn smooth by years of visitors. Whoever sat there felt their shoulders soften, their breathing slow, their thoughts quiet.
The garden did not try to be peaceful. It simply was. The flowers did not perform beauty. They simply grew. The water did not try to soothe. It simply flowed.
And so it is with you. You do not need to try to be calm. Simply allow yourself to grow, to flow, to be. Peace is not something you create. It is something you return to when you stop trying so hard.
The garden is always there, behind the wall, waiting for you to remember the way.
