The Releasing Exhale
A reflection from the Mind Sanctuary phone app.
Sometimes our tension lives in our breath. This simple practice releases it.
How to practice: 1. Notice where you hold tension, jaw, shoulders, chest, stomach 2. Take a slow inhale through your nose 3. As you exhale, make a sound: "Ahhhh" or "Shhhhh" 4. With each exhale, imagine releasing the tension 5. Continue for 10-15 breaths
Notice the sound and feeling of your exhale, without forcing it to become longer.
Use this practice anytime you feel wound up or stressed.
